Cardigans Care

Washing Instructions

Hand Washing Method
Gentle hand washing in cold water (maximum 30°C) using a mild, wool-safe liquid detergent is recommended to maintain the fabric quality. Submerge the sweater and submerge it gently in the water for a few minutes without scrubbing, rubbing, or wringing the knit. Rinse thoroughly with clean cold water until all soap residue is removed, then press out excess water gently against the side of the basin without twisting the garment.

Machine Washing Method
If machine washing is preferred, select a delicate or wool-specific cycle with cold water settings. Place the cardigan inside a mesh laundry bag before washing to prevent snagging or friction against other garments. Use a gentle liquid detergent formulated for wool blends, avoid softeners or bleach, and skip the spin cycle to protect the knit structure from stretching or warping.

Drying and Storage Instructions

Drying Instructions
After washing, reshape the cardigan to its original dimensions while damp and lay it flat to dry on a clean, moisture-absorbent towel away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Gently press out excess moisture with a second towel if needed, avoiding any wringing or twisting. Never hang the cardigan while wet, as the weight of the water will stretch out the knit structure, warp the shoulders, and distort the overall length.

Storage Instructions
Once fully dry, fold the cardigan neatly and store it in a cool, dry place inside a breathable fabric drawer or storage bin. Avoid using clothes hangers, as hanging wool blend knitwear over extended periods causes unsightly shoulder bumps and permanently stretches the garment. For long-term seasonal storage, include cedar blocks or lavender sachets to protect the fabric against natural pests and moisture build-up.
